Q: How did Pepstrep start?
A: Pepstrep began in the spring of 2023 as a school project. The goal was to create a startup with a socially-driven product. However, as students at a styling academy, we found little passion in our initial concepts. That’s when we decided to think outside the box and focus on something closer to our hearts: our own generation and the things we felt were missing in our lives.
The answer? Color and statement pieces. As stylists, we knew the power of one standout item to complete an outfit. Adding bold color or a unique eye-catcher seemed like the easiest way to elevate any look. With this idea in mind, we began experimenting and gathering inspiration.
One of our signature features—the distinctive knot design—was inspired by Vera’s background. Having parents who are mountain climbers, Vera mastered the art of knotting and saw the potential to adapt it into something bold and stylish. Together, with Vera’s expertise in product development and Liz’s knowledge of marketing, we created Pepstrep: a brand that embodies individuality, creativity, and style.
